Dr. Nisha Kancherla was born and raised in Glen Dale, WV. She received her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She then completed her residency in periodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. During this time, Dr. Kancherla also earned a master’s degree in Oral Science for her work in genetics and stem cell research, which was published in Molecular Cancer Research.
Dr. Kancherla is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. A Diplomate is a periodontist who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty and who is certified by the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Kancherla has been in practice for 8 years, working in Philadelphia and upstate New York before settling down in Atlanta with her husband and son.
Outside of the office, Dr. Kancherla enjoys exploring restaurants, (novice) hiking, and spending time with her family.
